God alone knows why Swedish rock is so good. It is a mystery of sorts, kind of like Japan and their rock scene; the kids just seem to take their love of sweaty rock and roll to a whole other level. Tramp are the latest incarnation of the tight Stockholm institution that has given our blessed ears The Hellacopters, Henry Fiat’s Open Sore, Thunder Express….. the list is endless. Tramp are more than a worthy edition to these hallowed halls of the legendary elite. The 60’s Brit pop sound, that unmistakable thunder reminiscent of The Who, The Kinks, The Hollies, and even the Beatles psychedelic era of Magical Mystery Tour madness, is pure goodness; marinate your brain, and marinate it well. This is their debut record and if we are all lucky there will be a few more to follow. Let us all give thanks to Sweden for giving us the rock we never knew we needed; it only gets better.
